Update

So I got an email from a friend saying how bad I've been about keeping in touch. Not to make excuses, but you know it usually goes both ways. :-) Strange how communication has become so convenient and fast, yet the distance between relationships lengthen and the frequency of any real conversation is sporadic at best. Certainly being in Temple doesn't help the situation. But I have to say, I'm finally quite content and at peace with all of this for now. Missing the people that I care about has had a way of softening my heart and causing me to depend on God a bit more. What else can I do.

Here's just a bit of what's going on with me in case you were wondering. I'm still in Temple during the weekdays. Learning lots about cardiology during the day. Trying to keep as occupied as I can during the evenings so that I don't miss Dallas too much. I golf, exercise, take dance classes, watch movies and go for walks in the evenings. I'm starting a part time job on Saturdays at an acute care clinic that is opening up in Irving. I think if I get to go on another medical missions trip, this experience will be most helpful. I'm a bit scared about it at the moment, but hopefully I'll get more comfortable as each Saturday passes. Funny how I feel fairly comfortable dealing with chest pain, but I don't quite know what to do with a runny nose except perhaps some kleenex.

My nephews are in town from Korea. I'm happy to share that they are growing up very bright, with every expanding curiosities and questions. The loss of their mother i'm sure hurts them, but they are still a bit young to know how it impacts them i think. I guess one day they may reunite, but for now, they seem quite content. They are not so little any more with the older one being as tall(or short) as me only for maybe one more week. Then he'll probably be taller, especially the way he eats. I just love being around them. They'll be here for a few more weeks, so I'm planning on doing lots of outdoor activities with them. I want to show them that computers, video games, and television is hardly necessary to have fun. I also have a new niece, Evelyn, that I'm very eager to hold and smooch on.

Where will I be one month from now? Probably still in Temple, but maybe in Dallas, San Diego, Virginia or even Australia or Africa. With time to think in Temple, my dreams go wild and around the world. My heart is always with my family and friends, but the adventurous side of me wants to explore the rest of the world.

I don't know where exactly I'll be a month from now, but I do know there's not a moment where I'm not missing someone. So I hope you know that despite my lack of correspondence, that you are being missed and thought about. And I might just be talking to God about you during my walks. I do hope that we can sit, eat, and catchup sometime.
